Out of Body Experience
The paranormal realm is such a mysterious branch. No one really knows for certain what are the explanations behind a variety of paranormal phenomenon. Although the branch of Science attempts to give a plausible reason in order to shed light on enigmatic occurrences, still there are a lot that remains beyond one’s comprehension.
An out of body experience (OBE) for one has proved to be a fascinating and sometimes fearful happening. This is reported as the person undergoing a sensation of being outside one’s physical body and being able to actually see one’s self as a separate entity. This phenomenon is supposed to happen spontaneously but there are those who claimed that they were able to achieve it through induction.
A number of incidences have been reported. Many have claimed that they have undergone this fateful event at some point in their lives. Moreover, those who have allegedly gone out of body stated in their testimonials that after the occurrence their senses were sharpened to the extent that they are now able to observe some details that used to be unknown to them.
Rationalization of Science
OBE is most often associated as part of a near death experience. In some instances there what they call astral projection wherein the second entity is able to travel outside of the body, even go to some places and be perceived or seen by other people.
No matter how hard scientists tried to come up with basis to rationalize this type of phenomenon, they still know very little about. The only plausible reason they could give is the possibility of an interruption in the human mind’s integrity. The men of Science associate the event with a possible mental or physical trauma.
Neurologists claim suspect that the phenomenon is triggered by a mismatch of body’s signal for vision and touch. Another possible reason they gave is the effect of some psychedelic medications. There are some drugs that may actually stimulate the brain receptors directly which will then cause or induce a person to be on a dream-like state.
Whether the explanations offered by Science are true or not, there still remain a number of queries regarding a large part on this phenomenon.
