Séance

Humans have always sought to connect with their creators and part of our human conditioning tells us that we are part of something more than third dimension. We envision gods, angels and others on the other side and as we expand our conscious awareness, we seek to hear their messages and make a connection. A séance is an attempt to communicate with spirits, the word came to be used specifically for a meeting of people who are gathered to receive messages from ghosts or spirits (mostly the dearly departed) or to listen to a spirit medium discourse with or relay message from spirits.

The popularity of séances grew dramatically with the founding of the religion Spiritualism and numerous books have been written about the best-known series of séances. In the modern times, documentation using video surveillance recording have been made possible and there have been exposures of fraud and showmanship among secular séance leaders. Cameras are strategically installed recording all activities for viewing at a later time replaying as many times possible to verify the authenticity of the séance.
